1)In electrical engineering the load factor is defined as the average load divided by the peak load in a specified time period. The ratio of average load to maximum load is called the load factor.

3)The area under the load curve represents the energy consumption in kilo-watt-hours during the period.
4)The load factor can also be defined as the ratio of the energy consumed during a given period to the energy which would have been used if the maximum demand had been maintained throughout that period.
